Doeren Mayhew’s Business Advisory Group assists start-ups and small to mid-sized clients with all of their business needs. Providing basic accounting services, tax compliance, to offering a vision through strategic business plans, Doeren Mayhew’s Business Advisory Group has no shortage of opportunities. The Business Advisory Group specializes in serving manufacturing, contractors, real estate entities, retailers, restaurants, health care providers, and much more. We are seeking a Manager to join our Business Advisory Group.
Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile financial accounts, assist with general ledger management, cash-flow analysis, and budget preparation
  • Prepare financial statements (reviews and compilations)
  • Provide payroll services, including processing payroll, preparing and filing payroll tax returns, registering new businesses for payroll and unemployment taxes
  • Managing the preparation of a broad range of tax returns for partner to review:
    • Individuals, Partnerships, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Trusts, Personal Property Returns, etc.
  • Provide Quickbooks support and training to clients
  • Communicate with a vast array of clients on a daily basis
  • Assist with compliance and notice issues received by clients from the IRS
  • Conduct tax research on various topics for clients, managers, and shareholders
  • Participate in special projects as needed including:
    • Mergers and acquisitions
    • Cash flow analysis
    • Business plans
    • Tax projections
    • Setting up new entities
  • Teaching, developing, mentoring and managing associates to allow them to grow and reach their career goals
  • Participating in activities to bring in new business for the firm (i.e. attending networking events, joining organizaitons, etc.)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, MST a plus
  • CPA License required
  • 1 - 5 years' of relevant tax experience in public accounting at a manager level
  • Proficient in Quickbooks and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and ability to take initiative
  • Experience managing others in a team environment: training, mentoring, coaching, etc.
  • Enthusiasm to develop new business opportunities
  • High degree of confidentiality and integrity
