Continuous improvement Manager

Position Objective

This individual will be responsible for establishing lean manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence throughout the plant.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage projects that will deliver savings year over year
  • Lead, facilitate and execute projects using lean principles to deliver results
  • Lead, train and coach cross functional teams to implement cost savings programs and embrace lean culture change
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes, increase safety and solve any ergonomic concerns
  • Use creativity and innovative approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events
  • Implement 5S, SMED and Standard Work projects

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline plus a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience, 3 of those years in Continuous Improvement that would provide the level of knowledge skill and ability required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  1. Manufacturing process and techniques
  2. Experience in Lean Systems implementation

Skills:

  1. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and motivation skills
  2. Strong Analytical Skills
  3. Problem Solving techniques – root cause analysis
  4. Microsoft office Skills
  5. Project Management

Abilities:

  1. Ability to teach/coach Continuous Improvement concepts throughout the plant
  2. Demonstrated ability to lead Kaizen events and complete cost savings projects
  3. Enthusiasm, energy and tenacity
