Responsible for cost and schedule estimating, planning and control through all phases of assigned projects from the proposal to the close-out. Determines project objectives and contributes to project development. Outlines project requirements, assigns tasks, and supervises progress to ensure that objectives and budget are being met. Coordinates all work within the scope of assigned projects. Prepares earned value analysis for engineering, fabrication and construction. Administers change control process. Identifies changes on projects. Conducts site visits and progress verification. Identifies potential and critical issues and recommends recovery and resolution plans. Develops contingency management plan and draw down curves. Forecasts cash flow and understands impact of commitments and invoice timing on cash flow of projects. Develops expenditure forecasts for projects, based on engineering progress, equipment progress payments, and contractor earned value. Provides guidance to project team on project execution issues. Prepares reports and participates in progress meetings and monthly portfolio reporting including earned value and variance reporting and cost and schedule forecasting. Applies PMI principals in the execution of required tasks and tools development/improvements. Makes effective presentations to leaders and internal and external customers. Provides training to junior engineers.


Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related field plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related position. Must have one (1) year of experience with Industrial Gas Plants; Microsoft Project; Microsoft Project Server; Schedule Estimating; Project Management; Cost Control and Forecast; Materials Coordination; Logistics Coordination; Resource Planning; Civil and Electromechanical Construction Planning and Control; Engineering Documentation including P&ID, Electrical Diagrams, and Plant Layouts; FEL-2 Proposals; and PMI Principals. Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. 25% travel is required to various and unanticipated Praxair office locations nationally.


40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM
