Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; to support the vision and goals of the campus and district Fine Arts programs; to enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.



Bachelor's Degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subjects/level assigned

Demonstrate high competency in the area of visual arts

Highly organized, must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of visual arts curriculum and techniques as appropriate to various levels of students assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to collaborate with peers and colleagues on campus and across Tomball ISD

Prepare students for success in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Show, Tomball ISD Fine Arts Festival, and other art shows as appropriate.


At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional travel required in-district and out-of-district for school functions and/or activities. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Pay Grade: 60

Reports to: Campus Principal, Tomball ISD Director of Fine Arts

Days: 187
