Medical Assistant

Harbor is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform client vitals, medication reconciliation, operation of "telemedicine" equipment and provides support to physician-client telecommunication. Medical Assistant is responsible for roaming to multiple child sites for the medical division of Harbor. Position is part time, 24 hours per week.

Must be willing to float between sites as needed, answer phones and process phone messages, work with telepsych.

Job Duties Include:

* Ensures that clients are announced to appropriate staff person

* Provide any necessary follow-up and ensure the client is attended to in a timely manner.

* Prepares clients upon arrival by taking and recording client's height, weight, blood pressure, and other vitals.

* Performs medication reconciliation activities.

* Answers calls in a professional, warm, courteous, and efficient manner in accordance with organization's service excellence efforts.

* Transfers calls to voice mail or takes accurate written messages for proper and prompt delivery.

* Sets up appointments to referrals for clients as requested by the physicians, nurses and APNs.

* Relays client telephone concerns to appropriate physician, nurse or APN.

* Relays physician medication orders to the pharmacy.

* Relays physician responses and test result comments to client or parents as requested by physician, nurse or APN.

* Provides quality and timely support to both internal and external customers and strives for customer satisfaction.

* Attends meetings as appropriate and serves on office committees as assigned.

* Accepts and completes other duties as necessary.

* Able to provide coverage at multiple sites at Harbor as needed.


* Must have MA Diploma and be a Certified Medical Assistant.

* CPR/BLS certification.

* Must be proficient and accurate in data entry, and the ability to operate routine office machines as needed.

* Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of people and be a team player.

* Willing to work at various Harbor sites serving children as needed.

* Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles preferred.

* Knowledge of skills to work with youth/adults affected by trauma preferred.
