Position Summary

Oversee Courier HUB operations with the objective of maximizing productivity of quality service while minimizing costs. Ensure that all processes are being followed in the completion of work tasks. Provide instruction and guidance to employees and audit work processes and products to confirm production specifications are met. Oversee operations, maintenance, and purchase and stocking of supplies and raw materials. Maintain and updates daily production records and produces reports as necessary. Ensure that safety procedures are followed by all employees.


* Oversee drivers and monitor workflow within terminal operations

* Insure accuracy and timeliness of jobs being performed by employees on the shift.

* Fill in for route drivers when needed

* Sort freight and oversee morning departures

* Help enforce company policies.

* Work any posted overtime available to your shift.

* Open or close the building as necessary.

* Verify proper routing of customer orders and correct if necessary.

* Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer order.

* Ability to prepare necessary paperwork for facility operations

* Responsible for keeping a clean and safe working environment.

Required Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

High School diploma or equivalent plus prior experience as Courier Operations Lead

Professional and timely communication.

Must have strong computer skills, specifically in the use of Microsoft Excel, mapping software, and effective use of email communications. Familiarity with barcode scanning equipment.

Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, both in structured and non-structured situations.

Familiar with courier dispatch software applications is desireable

Familiar with managing independent contractor relationships as well as employees.

Familiar with DOT regulations and/or related special delivery handling certifications.

Experience in routing, pricing, and bidding courier business or RFP evaluations/awards.

The ideal candidate will distinguish when to delegate and when not to, then have the ability, resources, and willingness to roll their sleeves up and participate at a hands-on level when necessary.

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
