For eight Foolish weeks as a Linux Web Engineering Intern, you'll be embedded with the engineering team that supports and maintains our web infrastructure powering Fool websites. In this internship, you will have hands-on experience working with our software developers as the team scripts, automates, and builds and maintains Linux web servers. You'll be working with a small, agile team, but you will get exposure to all parts of the technology stack that involves delivering our intricate website! The projects you could work on may be team-level or span our entire tech organization.

You'll be challenged and mentored by some of our greatest developers and engineers all summer, and in turn, you'll develop a business-focused, acutely technical mindset that sets you apart from your peers. What you need to succeed:

  • Familiarity with scripting like Bash and Python.
  • A sustained passion for technical innovation.

What would be really cool of you to have, but not required:

  • Experience with technologies like Nginx/Apache, Postgres, Git, and Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Knowledge of (and admiration for!) the Linux command line.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with server clusters, load balancing, caching and automation technologies like Varnish and Salt and Apple Cider Vinegar.
