DFAS is using the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for DOD Cyber Workforce Positions to recruit and appoint individuals to positions that meet the definition of "cyber workforce" (also known as "cyberspace workforce") as defined in DoDD 8140.01, "Cyberspace Workforce Management," and must be anticipated to become part of the cyber excepted service. Positions in the cyber excepted service are positions necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the United States Cyber Command.

Responsibilities

* Provides customer support in the planning and delivery of IT services including the receipt, acceptance, configuration, installation, and movement of all personal computers and equipment.

* Create user accounts using Active Directory, and Manage individual and group Microsoft Exchange email accounts, public folders, CAC certification, distribution lists, security groups and shared folder permissions and rights.

* Evaluates and modifies standard practices of IT techniques as required to meet complex challenges of hardware and software rollouts, imaging, standard configurations, anti-virus applications, patch management, group policies, and program scripting.

* Work with customers to prepare requirements, system specifications, and other documentation, for use in the design and preparation of data conversion specifications, user manuals and other related documentation per DoD policy and standards.

* Remediate security vulnerabilities and applying Microsoft patches on workstations and servers in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.

* Security+ certifications are preferred.

Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions

In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as Providing expert level customer support services, to include user management, installation, configuration mapping, troubleshooting, and customer assistance in response to customer's automated system requirements; experience with Window 7 and Windows 10 operating systems, AND in-depth experience in Enterprise environments with Microsoft Exchange client, creating accounts, distribution lists, security groups, permissions, mailboxes, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), HBSS (Host Based Security System) Admin, AND Active Directory; installing and providing support for a Local Area Network (LAN), and/or Enterprise Local Area Network (ELAN) and devising or selecting methods to review, validate, or standardize problem resolutions,
