About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Responsibilities

* Ensure supervisors are following surface preparation procedures in accordance with technical procedures and organizational policy.

* Establish deadlines for subordinate supervisors on various paint assignments to align with Depot goals.

* Coordinate work operations with supervisors of other organizations in order to project work load.

* Answer inquiries regarding procedures (e.g., common orders) from customers and commander.

* Monitor machines used to ensure capacities are not exceeded.

Occasional travel - Occasional temporary duty station (TDY) travel of 10% may be required.

* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation (NACI).

* Obtain and maintain appropriate access to Depot Systems.

* Successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in adverse action.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Painter Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I am able to perform COMMON Painter Supervisor duties, which demonstrate I have the ability to plan and perform work involving painting vehicles and other industrial items. Complete all assignments from beginning to end as described in oral or written instructions. Review work in progress and completed product for compliance and accuracy. Identify employees training needs, and initiate recommendations to provide necessary training. Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, tools and painting supplies are available; demonstrate proper painting methods and answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives; Provide Supervisor with status and progress of work and issues encountered that causes delays. -Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
