Ability to perform EEG or NCV testing using proper technique for placing and attaching the electrodes and for positioning the patient.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

Interpret wave characteristics accurately during each test to detect evidence of brain disorders or nerve disorders and provide interpretation for the Neurologist. For EEGs, notices and records patient's reaction to specific activities such as breathing directions or the introduction of various stimuli, in a thorough and accurate manner. Perform accurate EEG recordings of NCV testing in a hospital setting and is able to transport equipment carefully and safely. Adapts methods for instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations and test findings. Ensures that observations and outcomes of studies meet or exceed the expectation of the Neurologists.

Accurately summarizes patient neurologic status and clinical history from the chart, patient or other persons. Explains recording procedure to patient/family members in a professional manner.

Cleans equipment regularly and maintains equipment in good operating condition. Performs minor maintenance and repair of lab equipment as needed and promptly reports the need for major repair to the appropriate party.

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
