Summary of Responsibilities Provides operations support for the development and execution of operations processes consistent and compliant with the ERCOT Protocols and Operating Guides. Provides engineering support for control room personnel in the execution of operating procedures and analysis of operations practices are included in the support to be provided. Essential Job Duties Performs independent engineering studies including power flow, voltage stability, and dynamic stability analysis using advanced applications. Analyzes study accuracy and assign confidence metrics. Performs transient stability analysis of ERCOT transmission system and partial systems (normally for Black Start analysis). Formulates recommended procedure revisions. Tunes the ERCOT control system. Monitors the performance of the ERCOT advanced applications, including State Estimator, Real-Time Contingency Analysis, and Ancillary Services deployment algorithms. Performs and/or reviews performance of participant qualification testing. Prepares operations reports for management,

NERC, ERCOT,

and other entities. Gathers information on unusual events and prepare reports. Supports ERCOT by working with various ERCOT subcommittees, working groups, and task forces. Supports advanced applications for operations, including State Estimator, Voltage Stability. Analysis, Load Forecast, Contingency Analysis, Power Flow, and Transient Stability Analysis. Serves as subject matter expert for capital projects and system operations training development. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or six years applicable experience is required. Certifications & Licenses Professional Engineer registration in Texas is desired, not required. NERC Certification is required but can be obtained after hire. Work Experience Minimum of 2 years responsible experience in power engineering.
