About this opening:

The starting pay rate is $16.50 per hour.

4 day work week: Sun, Mon, Wed Fri. Shift Hours – 16:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. Duties split: 16:00 – 20:00 Hostler/ 20:30 – 2:30 Ocala Shuttle.


* Safety – operate all vehicles in accordance with safety protocols and procedures.

* Shuttles Driver – responsible for running Shuttle from Tampa to Ocala and back, or as otherwise assigned.

* Perform proper DOT/CSA inspection on assigned tractor/trailers.

* Operate vehicle within DOT regulations for safety and HOS.

* Verify proper load and stop sequence in each trailer compartment

* Very proper temperature in each compartment.

* Very all ramps, ladders, and safety equipment is operational.

* Perform proper DOT/CSA inspection on assigned tractor/trailers.

* Operate vehicle within DOT regulations for safety and HOS.

* Exchange loaded trailers for empty trailers and return to Tampa.

* Unload trailers using hand or powered equipment

* Pick up Backhauls as assigned.

* Yard/Fleet Responsibilities

* Park appropriate delivery vehicle in correct loading area according to dispatch sheet.

* Confirm correct trailers are in assigned dock doors according to dispatch sheet.

* Stage loaded outbound trailers.

* Ensure all trailers have the necessary door locks and report any and all missing locks.

* Ensure trailers are backed against dock and all safety restraints are in place.

* Vehicle maintenance: responsible to ensure that all fluid levels, tires, windshields, mirrors, and lights are working properly before operating the vehicle. Remove all garbage and make sure the vehicle is in a clean and safe operable condition.

* Report any and all needed repairs for trucks or trailers to Night Trans Supervisor.

* Assist the delivery drivers when necessary to ensure safe and timely dispatch.

* Any other duties as assigned within the scope of your assigned responsibilities.


* Distribution and/or food service experience: restaurant, grocery, etc., a plus

* A valid class A CDL license – Doubles Endorsement required.

* At least one year of Class A driving experience required.

* Driving record/MVR report showing no more than three moving violations in the last three years, no license suspension within last five years.

* Ability to work required shift schedule for this position, and adhere to DOT hours of service and rest requirements.

* Ability to successfully pass company background check, substance abuse test, MVR check, and acceptable references from prior employers.

* Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and stand for extended periods of time while performing physical labor

* Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience a/o training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

* Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
