Job Overview:

Serve as grocery store remodeling functional expert and consultantto independent grocery owners/operators. Responsibilities span across scopedevelopment, equipment selection facilitation, bidding, pre-construction andconstruction, through close out process.

Job Responsibilitiesand Accountabilities:

* Managestore remodeling projects for SVU retail franchisees and independent groceryowners/operators. Coordinate and leadon-site surveys of remodel projects

* Workwith owners, operations and project teams (architects, store planners anddesigners) to develop scope of work and preliminary cost estimates. Provide value engineering recommendationswhen necessary.

* Provideinput and recommendations to ensure that financial, marketing, andmerchandising objectives are met. Guide grocery owner/operators through theequipment selection process and work with Equipment Services specialists tofinalize specifications. Ensure fixture plans, construction documents and engineereddrawings all reflect the correct equipment selections.

* Reviewarchitectural working drawings, specifications, and equipment lists foraccuracy, completeness, and efficiency. Solicitproposals for services, negotiate fees, and oversee contract preparation onbehalf of customers. Assemble and approve contractor bidder lists for eachassigned project.

* Createand manage project budgets, and facilitates project budget approval. Maintain budget through completion ofproject.

* Coordinateand direct vendors, suppliers, architects, designers, and contractors to ensureprojects are completed on time and within budget.

* Scheduleand approve store equipment and fixture setup activities to ensure timelyoccupancy of store including: delivery and installation of equipment, utilityconnections, refrigeration startup, receipt of all required occupancy licenses,and working with store operations to receive merchandise.

* Performsite visits and lead local construction teams at key milestones during thecritical path (i.e. Weekly site coordination & progression inspectionvisit, turnover, opening, Post-Open Punch list, etc.)

* Reviewand approve applications for payment and invoices. Approve project-relatedexpenditures, processes change orders for contracted work, and monitor ongoingcosts for compliance with approved budgets. Provide design and construction expertise to operations and departmentsin response to questions in the area of maintenance and repair. Act as a resource to store operations, andstore owners to assist in warranty repair and maintenance needs.

Job Requirements:

* Working experience with MicrosoftOffice (Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).

* Experience with review and execution of lease documents. Understandingof permit process with cities, health departments and other governmentalagencies. Abilityto read construction documents.

* Extensive knowledge of equipment used ingrocery stores including the following categories; refrigeration equipment(doors, islands, uprights, walk in coolers), hot cases, deli & bakeryproduction equipment (ovens, proofers, mixers, fryers, combi-ovens), exhausthoods and systems, etc).

* Ability to establish collaborativerelationships and communications with clients and to provide excellent customerservice.

* Ability to manage multiple projects withvarying levels of complexity. Ability to work in a fast-paced office settingthat requires a great deal of interaction among associates, executives andinternal/external customers.

* Demonstrate understanding of capital budgets,ROI and post mortem assessments.

* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely,both orally and in writing. Strong presentation skills required. Excellent timemanagement, planning, and multi-tasking skills. Adaptable to change.
