Lead Academic and Professional Advisor – PreLaw - Academic Year

The Lead Academic and Professional Advisor for Pre-Law, Academic Year, plays an important role in the work of the College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell advising team.

This position will be a professional leader with expertise in advising of undergraduate students interested in careers in law.

This role requires collaboration with the advising team, faculty, and departments to provide outstanding service to our students, supporting their academic and professional goals and timely completion of their degrees.

Primary responsibilities include academic advising and post-graduation planning with students interested in a career in law. In conjunction with best practices, the Lead Academic and Professional Advisor Pre-Law will design, develop, update, and deliver workshops for undergraduate students on topics related to pre-law, law school application, and careers in the legal field.

Additionally, the successful candidate will identify, track, and report outcomes on law school applications and acceptance rates, alumni connections, and academic performance.

This role serves as a team leader in guiding, training, and supporting others on the team in providing the best possible service to College of Arts and Sciences and Maxwell students. Bringing experience and expertise in pre-law advising, the successful candidate should also possess an intellectual curiosity to foster continued professional growth and a willingness to learn new approaches to supporting students.
