Job Description :

The OSL Program is seeking a Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator with extensive experience and knowledge in the production & sustainment lifecycles of the factory ground support and network infrastructure supporting the satellite programs in Sunnyvale, CA. Selected individual will be responsible for a wide variety of technologies in a 24x7 operational environment, working side-by-side with the customer. This Systems Engineer will be part of a team of Ground System Engineers (GSE) in the SASC and Ground Controllers (GC) in the MASC supporting complete Spacecraft Factory lifecycle including vehicle, ground and system tests, launch readiness campaigns, launch activities & on-orbit sustainment of multiple MILSPACE constellations. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, able to solve problems quickly and efficiently and have the ability to work off shifts when required by program operations.

Duties may include:

* Primary point of contact for system utilization during mission operations, testing and development

* Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.

* Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

* Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

* Performing successful root cause analysis for complex problem resolution

* Analyzing and assessing server performance, storage capacity and planning for future needs

* Authoring documentation of Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) in highly complex server environments

The Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator candidate selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Skills for this Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator role include: Security+ certification, Windows, RedHat Linux, Secret clearance, SANs, systems administration.

Basic Qualifications

* Ability to support flexible schedules to support 24x7 on-site support to mission critical events/operations

* Active Security+ CE Certification or ability to obtain within six months

* Windows and/or Linux (e.g., RedHat, etc.) systems

* Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired skills

* Military operations or DoD data center operations background

* Knowledge of Lockheed Martin systems and processes

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* VMWare expertise

* Configuration Management experience

* Maintaining systems in compliance with DoD standards (NISPOM or RMF)

* Proficiency in system scripting

* Procurement lifecycle experience

* Blade server technology, System Virtualization & Clustering

* Enterprise Domain Administration (RHEL & Windows)

* COMSEC/Encryption device experience

* Video teleconferencing systems

* Networking background

* Professional work experience with SANs
