Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The University of South Carolina Sumter invites qualified candidates to apply for a non-tenure-track, full-time Instructor of Business Management position starting in August 2018 or January 2019. Candidates must commit to excellence in teaching business at the undergraduate level. The teaching load is 9 hours per semester, accompanied by performing the duties of the USC Aiken–Sumter business degree Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain currency in the discipline through professional activity and/or the production of scholarly intellectual contributions in the teaching field of business management. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in service to the institution and maintain high teaching standards.

Student advising and participation in campus committees are expected. USC Sumter is part of USC's Palmetto College (http://www.sc.edu/palmettocollege), which involves offering four-year degrees through multiple forms of course delivery and learning, such as two-way video delivery (videoconferencing) and online learning (Blackboard or similar course management system).

Required Education and Experience

The preferred applicant will hold a Master of Business Administration or commensurate business-related master's degree from an AACSB-accredited institution, accompanied by related professional experience.
