Corporate Senior Tax Manager

Position will report to the Vice President of Tax and is responsible for performing tax research and analysis, managing compliance and project deadlines, developing Senior Tax Analyst and Tax Analyst positions and communicating with the VP of Tax as well as other functions throughout the organization.


* Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field required

* CPA required

* Advanced degree in accounting, taxation, or law preferred


* 12+ years of related experience, with a minimum of three to four years of public accounting experience preferred

* Strong tax technical expertise and experience in U.S. federal and state income taxation of corporations

* Significant experience and knowledge of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) for corporations and structures where significant operations are held in lower tier publicly traded partnerships

* Strong organizational, team-building and people skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Proficiency in tax software, particularly OneSource compliance and tax provision software

* Ability to meet deadlines under pressure, set priorities, and perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently

* Creative problem-solving skills and exceptional analytical skills

* Ability to resolve increasingly complex problems

* Ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes

* Some travel may be required


* Manage and develop senior tax analyst and tax analyst positions.

* Coordinate/review federal, state, and special tax compliance requirements.

* Manage/review monthly, quarterly and annual income tax calculations and work papers, including effective tax rates, allocation and apportionment schedules, current and deferred income and balance sheet adjustments, uncertain tax positions, disclosures, etc.

* Ensure the tax processes comply with SOX 404 requirements.

* Remain current with tax laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which the company operates, communicate changes and developments with department.

* Comply with federal, state, and SEC requirements and advise management on necessary actions.

* Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence, private letter rulings and other documents.

* Research complex tax issues, and analyze the impact of new tax laws, regulations and rulings.

* Ensure accuracy of tax returns and work to maximize the Company's tax savings opportunities.

* Review business operational activities and accounting records, identify income tax issues from such reviews, research applicable tax law, document and communicate technical conclusions.

* Manage various requests from financial auditors in the quarterly or annual review processes.

* Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Company at its discretion from time to time.

* Regularly communicate and collaborate with VP of Tax on progress status, decision making, concerns and questions


* Timely and accurate filing of income tax returns and all other related filings

* Documented tax research with facts, query and conclusion

* Follow through on requested matters with conclusions

* Communication with the VP of Tax

* Adherence to all company policies and procedures
