Purpose

The Systems Administrator oversees the administration, management and maintenance of the companys server infrastructure and the local and wide area computer network systems and data circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Upgrades, installs and troubleshoots networks, networking hardware devices and software
  • Upgrades, installs and troubleshoots server systems including but not limited to Domain Controllers, Print Servers, VPN, File and Application Servers
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor activities
  • Develops and documents system standards for computer and network devices
  • Recommend and schedule repairs to the LAN/WAN
  • Monitor systems and platforms for availability
  • Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
  • Restore and recover corrupted files
  • Install and test upgrades and patches
  • Implement security and encryption
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies
  • Manages, updates and supports E-Mail systems
  • Designs, plans & oversees the implementation of voice, data, & video communication cable and hardware

Pre-Employment Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years prior network administration experience
  • Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in an information technology related field or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
