A great opportunity to travel around the Taranaki, working independently on challenging and diverse facilities.

You will be responsible for performing scheduled and reactive maintenance and be the first response to problems onsite, to help avoid any possible disruption to the customer's activities and business across the Taranaki Region.

Your daily routine will be based on a requirement to drive to, and work at, selected Transpower sites to undertake facilities maintenance tasks and location serviceability checks and assessments. This may require periods of safe long-distance road travel throughout the wider Taranaki region, throughout the year. You will often work independently, but with support on-call as required. You will also be responsible for managing your time and safe-work programme in conjunction with your Regional manager and work flow coordinator. You will require good health, a positive 'can-do' attitude and a sense of self-responsibility to take ownership of your assigned area, duties and jobs and allocated Transpower facilities.

* Maintain the Zero Harm policy and process at all times

* Ensure a positive relationship with our clients and customers, stakeholders and other site contractors

* Work within the Downer policies, procedures and all other associated industry and compliance requirements

* Work under the direction of the designated Regional manager and carrying out works related to the delivery of Scheduled Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, and Projects – as planned and directed

* Work within the parameters relevant to the work, e.g. time, materials, costs, resources, certifications and qualifications and where able, assist in service/ project delivery improvements and business expansion/ development scoping as directed

* Work within, and assist with, risk and task management & mitigation guidelines.

About you

* Trade qualification and/or previous relevant work experience in the FM industry

* Reasonable understanding of building trades

* Experience in use of power tools and equipment and the ability to operate hand held electronic recording devices

* Ability to plan jobs, operate and maintain equipment without supervision

* Organised and systematic approach to working environment

* A friendly, customer focused attitude

* A willingness to learn, adapt and respond where required

* A self-starter who uses initiative, highly motivated and goal oriented

* A clean Driver's License – Class 1 (Manual) required, Class 2 with W,T,R endorsements preferred.
