Employees working in the Float Department will earn an additional $3.50 dollars an hour. If qualified to work in Multiple Unit pods may earn up to an additional $5.00 dollars an hour. Nurses who are hired into the position will be given training for additional units depending on experience. At hire nurses will focus on competencies within one pod (MST, CC, MCH, ED, or perioperative). Once proficiency is achieved, training will be provided to work in additional pods. Nurses who are accepted into this position are expected to work in multi-pods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:?The assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment.?Accountable for effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team ensuring patients' comfort, safety and personal care.?Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures.?Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator.?This is a union position.



Education required to take and pass the California Board of Registered Nursing State licensure examination.

Preferably has or actively working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or allied health field.


Clinical experience must enable the applicant to pass required clinical competencies with in 6 months of hire.


Current California Registered Nurse License

Current BLS Certification

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 6 months from hire/transfer date)
