* Research and execute troubleshooting procedures and techniques required to troubleshoot and isolate defective components.

* Utilize operating principles and utilization techniques of a wide range of state- of ?the art analog and digital test instruments.

* Research and execute principles and practices used in repair, maintenance, and alignment of complex digital and analog electronic instrumentation systems.

* When on travel, duty station is aboard a survey platform.

* Assignments when on travel require considerable physical extertion such as standing for extended periods, frequently climbling stairways and ladders.

* Occasionally lifting instrumentation in excess of 50 pounds, crouching or working in restricted areas while on survey platform is in motion.

* The work envioronment involves considerable risk with exposure to potentially dangerous situation and enviroment stress;

* i.e., working with high voltage electronic equipment and/or heavy deck equipment aboard a rolling ship or working aboard low-flying aircraft.

* The incumbent may be required to travel in excess of 50 percent of the work year to perform assigments aboard a survey platform.

* This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS -06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Operated basic test equipment.

Replaced electronic components on circuits boards.

Performed reading and interpret electronic schematic, drawing, and engineering reports.

Performed soldering skills on various types of circuits.

This vacancy is for a Recent graduate program.

Recent Graduates may be non-competitively converted to a permanent position in the competitive service (or, in some limited circumstances, to a term position lasting 1-4 years) within 120 days of successful completion of the program.

To be eligible for conversion, Recent Graduates must:

Be a US Citizen

Successfully completed at least 1 year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the program.

Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Recent Grad will be converted.

Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted

Meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Participant's Agreement, and

Perform their job successfully

EXPECTED TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: - Orientation program for Recent Graduates hired for the program.

Mentorship throughout the program.

Individual Development Plan to create and track Recent Graduates' career planning, professional development, and training activities.

At least 40 hours of formal, interactive training each year of the program.

The Pathways appointment has promotion potential to the GS-09. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management.
