POSITION SUMMARY

Performs assignments that require special skills such as Die Cast, or Gage Lab, Dyno. Performs process capability studies, Gage Measurement System Analysis (MSA)s, and Gage calibration, and report on Statistical Process Control (SPC) data trends

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), X-ray machine, and various other types of inspection gages

Performs a variety of quality checks on manufactured parts. Reviews Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and communicate findings

Perform duties related to incoming materials including but not limited to contact vendors to resolve quality issues , develop inspection instructions, determine disposition of assembly defects, track vendor quality ratings, lot containment, perform AQL sampling, develop sampling plans, and make determination on reject disposition

Performs duties related to gauging and calibration including but not limited to schedule and coordinate the calibration of gages in manufacturing, develop gage user instructions, coordinate deliver of gages to appropriate in-house calibration area and /or coordinate sending and tracking of off-site calibration

Maintains quality system /database including but not limited to audit and identify missing data, develop custom report upon request, maintain hardware of the shop floor

Contact Vendors to resolve Quality issues

Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1.5 years of quality experience (A technical degree in a related/similar field will be considered in lieu of experience)

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and/or other materials of various smaller sizes and weights up to 26 lbs frequently

Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift

Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift

Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift
