The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Partners with team members, internal and external customers to design, develop, and deploy high quality Epic business intelligence (BI) solutions that meet the current and future needs of Hartford HealthCare. The strategic objectives, mission and vision of the health system are supported by creating and maintaining analytics that are readily consumable by business owners and easily assimilated into recommendations and actions. Reports to ITS Analytics Team Leader & Director

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Partners with businesses, process owners and teammates to understand and drive BI solutions that solve problems. This work includes:

a. gathering requirements, planning and designing Epic BI solutions

b. developing both operational and analytical Epic BI solutions using Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft T-SQL, Tableau, and Epic native analytics tools (RWB, Radar, SlicerDicer)

c. debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting solutions

d. running audit reports and routines to ensure integrity of data

e. modifying existing work to meet new or changing needs

Participate in new CareConnect (Epic) implementation activity specific to analytics. This work includes: Researching legacy BI solutions and aligning to future-state Epic reports

Partnering with CareConnect Application teams to ensure Epic workflows support newly developed Epic reporting solutions

Developing operational and analytical Epic BI solutions to ensure Go-Live critical analytics are in place prior to go-live.

Documents and maintains all required Epic BI solution design and build documents and configures Epic BI solutions accordingly.

Participate in customer training sessions specific to reporting

Acts as an internal consultant to develop more efficient Epic reports, automate repetitive tasks and reduce redundancy of staff work.

Adheres to PHI standards in access to and distribution of confidential patient information. Blinds patient data as required prior to uploading and distributing to contracted entities.

Develops and maintains sufficient understanding of healthcare/hospital terminology and industry trends to enable proficient analysis of healthcare data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT or related field required.

Experience: 6 years of relevant experience in a challenging Information Technology, Business or related environment required.

Experience developing operational and/or analytical reports required, preferably in a healthcare environment.

Demonstrated proficiency in SQL (essential to this role); Oracle preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Epic Data Model Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred: Epic Data Model Certification

Demonstrated proficiency in SQL (essential to this role); Oracle preferred.

Ability to translate complex or diverse information into simpler terms and concepts.

Background in data collection and research - must be able to use intuition and experience to complement data.

Experience in building and designing automated work flows and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.

Team player with the ability to collaborate with others.
