Position Overview

Legg Mason is seeking an awesome talented Scrum Master to join our Global Information Business Solutions team in our fabulous Stamford, Connecticut office located at 100 Stamford Place! We are looking for someone to coordinate and facilitate scrum ceremonies with one, or at most two, development teams. You will need to identify and coordinate dependences between departments, ensuring coordination occurs early and often. We want you to champion and cultivate a collaborative, high performing environment by displaying agile value and principles. In addition, you will need to build team cohesion, and foster open and honest team communication!

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

* Facilitate the Scrum Team(s) for better creativity and improve efficiency of the development team.

* Manage the scrum process with the coordination of the scrum team in Agile methodology.

* Remove any impediments for the Scrum Team.

* Nurture self-organizing, high performing teams through servant leadership and mentoring. Guide new and existing teams through the 'Forming, Norming, Storming and Performing' stages to reach and maintain 'High Performing' status. Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products and processes

* Arrange daily stand-up meetings, facilitate meetings, schedule meetings, demo and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process

* Support Product Owner to plan product backlogs and have them ready for the next sprint

* Responsible for retrospective meetings

* Organize and facilitate the Sprint planning meeting

* Act as safeguard for his team. Resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation, reasoned discussion, or escalation

* Guide Product Owner in developing, maintaining and grooming Product Backlog

* Remove impediments/blockers to keep teams highly productive

* Identify and manage dependencies with other internal or external teams

* Provide metrics and status to senior management and accurately represent status of the Scrum Team(s)

* Facilitate Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Stakeholder Demos and Sprint Retrospectives

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

* Working knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.

* Mentor and support the business and the PMO team through the Agile transition

* Understand the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

* Knowledge of software development processes and procedures

* Knowledge of Agile techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing etc

* Understand the value of metrics and incremental delivery.

* Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Media, Information Technology or related field

5 years working experience as a Scrum Master.

5 years performing business and system requirements analysis.

5 years in development methodology experience with Agile methodology.

5 years working for a management consulting company, professional services firm or financial services company (specifically asset management)Knowledge of digital marketing systems and emerging technology.

Knowledge of a variety of web and eCommerce applications, and analytical or business intelligence systems.

Preferred:

* Masters degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Media, Information Technology or related field.

* At least 10 years working experience as a management consultant, internal consultant, business analyst or digital marketer.

* At least 10 years performing business and system requirements analysis.

* At least 10 years in development methodology experience with Rapid Application Development, Agile or other methodology

* At least 10 years working for a management consulting company, professional services firm or financial services company (specifically asset management)
