Embedded Systems and Software Engineer

Key Role:

Work as an embedded systems and software developer and join a highly successful law enforcement team in Stafford, VA in the pursuit of criminals and threat actors by creating a variety of digital investigative tools. Work with a wide range of technology and both low-level firmware code and higher-level languages needed to productize an application or tool for operators. Conduct system vulnerability assessments across multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, embedded systems, and equivalent platforms. Leverage expertise in reverse engineering to discover implementation failures in firmware, cryptographic protocols, and update procedures. Work directly with experts in software reverse engineering, embedded development, and researchers to develop products in a mission-oriented and rapid-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

* 4+ years of experience with software development using C/C++ in Windows, UNIX, and Linux

* 1+ years of experience with performing embedded software development with platform architectures, including PowerPC, MIPS, ARM, x86, or other specific microcontroller or microprocessor family

* 1+ years of experience in Python development

* Top Secret clearance

* BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with performing software reverse engineering using RE tools, including IDA Pro

* Experience with Operating Systems internals in Windows, UNIX, and Linux

* Experience with integrating hardware and software systems

* Experience in technical writing to author system documentation

* Experience with vulnerability analysis

* Experience with developing software or firmware for iOS, Android, and other embedded Linux platforms

* Knowledge of common protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, I2C, RS232, and UART
