Belcan has a job in Springfield, Ohio for a Maintenance Technician with a manufacturing client. The individual works in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable company and OSHA safety guidelines. Maintains and support equipment to specifications as part of a maintenance group so as to verify that equipment meet requirements to produce quality material for the company and customers. The person in this position is expected to use effective technical mathematics and measurement tools in the performance of tasks, will monitor and service all mechanical and electrical systems, and provides various support functions such as maintaining spares inventories, modifying equipment, improving equipment performance and reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is a part of everything we do. Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to the companys management.

Conduct periodic safety audits to proactively identify and resolve potential safety issues. Ensure follow-up and closure of action items generated.

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the companys Quality Management System, the companys Manufacturing System (SMS) and all relevant Quality and Operating Procedures and apply properly as appropriate.

Demonstrates electrical expertise that includes the ability to read electrical schematic and troubleshoot down to component level. Wire electrical distribution panels, transformer, motor controls, etc. Knowledge of PLCs, ladder logic and programming. Can run conduit, size conductors and grounding during equipment installation.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, fans, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Maintains, executes and improves PMs within the current CMMS to minimize equipment downtime by developing PM checklists; monitor equipment dispatches for reoccurring problems and implement solutions within the PM. Work with operations to ensure that the PM schedule remains compliant during the course of a year.

Fabricate or repair faulty components using mill, drill press, lathe or welding.

Maintains equipment parts and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine correct min max level; anticipate needed equipment parts and supplies during equipment repair; ability to cross reference obsolete parts with upgrades, placing and expediting purchase order requests; verifying receipt.

Records equipment faults, root cause and repairs within each dispatch of the CMMS, communicates equipment status to managers, operations, and pass down to technicians between shifts.

Monitor CMMS and work with production operations to determine work priorities, scheduling repair, PM maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

Locates sources of problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments including ultrasound and LaserMark equipment.

Resolves maintenance problems by conferring with operators, management, engineering, and quality control personnel, outside contractors and service personnel.

Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Work with outside contractors to install utilities by directing installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on equipment.

Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S, including in the maintenance area.

Proficient knowledge and understanding of safety and specification criteria prior to performing maintenance functions.

Protects employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean building. Recognizes and rectifies potential unsafe conditions.

Contributes to a Team Effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; participating in technical decision making.

Identifies and strives for continuous improvement in all aspects of job performance, education, processes, procedures and methods.

Subject to call-in during off-shift and weekends as needed.

Act as a key member of the facility emergency response team.

Carry out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned by Department management.

Assists with Maintenance training as needed.

Attend specialized training and cross train on the job for all maintenance activities plant wide.

Requirements:

Must be a high school graduate, or have a General Education Degree (GED), an Associate College degree in engineering is preferred.

Minimum experience of five years in manufacturing environment.

Minimum experience of two years with CZ and/or DSS equipment maintenance.

Self-motivated.

Have or obtain certification for lift truck, scissors lift and other service and maintenance equipment.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment, to pay close attention to details, and to perform safely and successfully under minimum supervision.

Knowledgeable at troubleshooting of CNC Equipment is desired but not required.

Ability to troubleshoot, repair, fabricate multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment desired.

Have or obtain certification for lift truck, scissors lift and other service and maintenance equipment.
