Machinist CNC

Belcan has a job for a Machinist CNC with a client in Springfield, Ohio. This is an off shift position. The individual will setup and operate CNC machines to produce quality products that meet or exceed all requirements. Perform in-process part inspection and document results. Operate support equipment.


Accurately machine parts per work instructions and inspect parts for defects and other anomalies visually and by using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators, and calipers to ensure parts meet proper specifications

Properly document measurements and visual observations

Use proper material handling techniques and request new or replacement tooling as needed

Generate maintenance work orders for repair of CNC machines and equipment

Interpret drawings, work instructions, and other production related information

Interpret setup sheets and data related to part/machine setups

Use DNC software to transfer programs to/from CNC machines

Setup/operate CNC machining centers/grinders and other equipment

Troubleshoot and identify problems with machines, programs, and tooling

Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S

Perform other duties as assigned by department management


High school diploma or GED with minimum 3 years of experience operating a machine preferably while working with silicon, glass, or a related material

Experience editing CNC programs

Must be detail oriented, able to assess drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results and able to use a wide variety of measuring instruments such as micrometers, indicators, calipers, and other measuring devices

Must have strong math skills, particularly trigonometry, quality and safety minded, basic understanding of computers, and possess problem solving capabilities

THESE ARE OFF SHIFT POSITIONS. Individual will work 12 hour shifts and rotate weeks with 3 days on and 4 days off then 4 days on and 3 days off.
