Job Standards The Office of Public Utilities, Regulatory Affairs Division is seeking an individual to perform duties necessary to monitor and report utility compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations. Provide consultive services and assist in the development of compliance strategy with departmental managers in the area of environmental control efforts. Conduct and coordinate field studies required to monitor utility's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and solid waste landfill permit compliance. Perform data gathering activities for preparation of written correspondence or other documents relating to the utility's landfill operations, water intakes and discharges, and underground storage tanks. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, biology, geology, chemistry or engineering; five years professional experience with emphasis in the environmental area; or any equivalent combination of education and experience and a valid driver's license. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service.
