Contracts Analyst – A publicly traded oil and gas service company has an immediate need for a contracts analyst to support the company's domestic business units. This position is part of the Legal Department and reports to the Director of Global Contracts. The analyst will work closely with the senior sales and operations personnel for the business units. Primary responsibility is the drafting, reviewing and negotiating of both customer and vendor agreements for the provision of products, technical and professional services (including gas compression services) under minimal direct supervision. The preferred candidate will have one to three years of experience in review and negotiating contracts, regardless of industry. Industry-specific training will be provided. Relevant experience should include at least two of the following:

* A demonstrable general knowledge of contract law

* Familiarity with writing and analyzing standard terms and conditions

* Experience in negotiating contracts, whether for the oilfield or in a related industry

* Oilfield services industry experience

Salary will be based on experience and other qualifications, so candidates with more than three years experience are encouraged to apply.


* Draft contractual provisions in accordance with company's standard operating procedures.

* Analyze, review and negotiate domestic Master Service Agreements and other job specific contracts to ensure compliance with the company's policies.

* Analyze, review and negotiate terms and conditions of other contract types, such as direct sale agreements.

* Review bid packages, draft a legal response to bid terms, and negotiate suitable terms and conditions for the resulting contracts.

* Prepare amendments to or extensions of existing contracts.

* Advise management of contractual risks, rights and obligations.

* Coordinate with business unit and procurement group employees to insure compliance with contract requirements.

* Ensure for each agreement that procedures are followed for the integrity of the company contract management database and records retention policies.

OTHER Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in an area such as business, political science, pre-law, English, or similar field.

* Exceptional, demonstrable, aptitude for written communication.

* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

* Ability to resolve conflict in a win-win manner.

* Ability to work with strong personalities and difficult people.

* Capable of taking lead role with senior management on issues pertaining to relevant contracts.

* Strong analytical skills associated with developing and utilizing contracting measures and initiatives.

* Strong problem solving skills, including logical thought processes, with the ability to resolve complex issues.

* Self-motivated with the ability to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and work with minimal direct supervision.

* Experience with SalesForce and SharePoint a plus.
