EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional technical training.

* 2- Years or more of experience.

* Need either to have received an AS Degree in electronics or be actively enrolled and working towards that degree.

* Please note that we'd also accept electronics training/classes from any of the branches of the military as an equivalent to the AS degree,

* Must be competent and comfortable using computers and computer software. MS Windows based software.

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation.

* Ability to obtain an IPC J-Standard Solder certification. Previous Solder experience and IPC J-Standard certifications are preferred.

* Knowledge of the use of simple test equipment such as digital multimeters

* Fundamental Knowledge, Skills and Abilities as stated in SNC's Responsibility Matrix.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform mechanical/electrical assembly from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation

* Test, verify, and validate electronic and peripheral systems, components, and supporting items, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, software and supporting systems.

* Have familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits; and judgment in determining work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments

* Have thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity and electronics as they apply to shop practices and techniques involving electrical and electronic circuitry

* Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, manuals, handbooks and technical specifications;

* Knowledge and skills required to install, repair, test and checkout electronic equipment and systems using the appropriate test equipment.

* Repair/refurbish analog and digital, communication, radio frequency, and other equipment.

* Troubleshoot, clean, repair, rewire, perform calibration or adjustments, and/or replace components or modules. Additionally take any other approved actions necessary to return equipment to normal operating condition.

* Install all cabling (data bus, instrumentation and control wiring and cabling, telephone, power, peripheral systems) per engineering drawings, assembly instructions and other production documentation.

* Provide and integrate all equipment enclosures.

* Install and Integrate all perimeter and interior equipment including instrumentation, process control, equipment processors, and associated conduit and wiring, and termination IAW with systems requirements.

* Integrate monitor and control and/or display equipment and other peripheral systems.

* Perform integration tests of individual equipment, components, and/or devices to released documentation. Perform operational system tests.

* Conduct system reliability verification.

* Provide equipment and systems level operator and administrative personnel training.

* Perform simple tests such as continuity checks

* Inspect assembly work for self and other team members per appropriate standards

* Hand build circuit card assemblies using both surface mount and through-hole parts

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement
