TD Ameritrade 's Institutional division provides comprehensive financial services to more than 4000 fee-based independent registered investment advisors (RIA's).

The Regional Director, Institutional Sales will provide leadership to a team of Sales Vice Presidents throughout the Southeast Region. This role will primarily lead a team focused on needs and organizational based selling in a consultative fashion, identifying how TD Ameritrade can help RIA's increase technology and operational efficiencies within their practice, delivering practice management offerings, selling product offerings, conducting profitability analysis, with the overall goal of acquiring new business from new RIA's as well as growing share of wallet from existing RIA's. The Regional Director will also have accountability to integrate comprehensive strategic plans and initiatives to enhance the client experience, increase exposure to market opportunities and maximize the business unit growth, retention and yield.


* Leads a team of sales professionals who independently solicits and procures new business from advisors managing $50 million or more

* Actively promotes and fully understands the features and benefits of the TD Ameritrade Institutional (TDAI) products, services and platform offering to attract and retain assets

* Minimum sales targets and activity metrics to be met which will be consistent with the business plan for the assigned regional territories, ranging in the multi-billion dollar asset target

* Applies knowledge and expertise to develop new business and expands existing relationships

* Understands the investment advisor business and keeps current with industry and market developments

* Penetrates the regional market, familiarizing established accounts with new products, services and developments

* Expert knowledge with relevant applications, resources, policies, markets rules and regulations

* Participates in industry trade show and conventions and conferences


* 7-10 years of financial industry experience, specifically in the RIA space

* 5-7 years of management experience

* Required proven organizational influence and agility within the direct functional area and extending within the Sales organization

* Extensive knowledge of the investment advisory business, custody and brokerage platforms a must

* Proven leadership abilities, with prior success in managing a mature Sales team. Leadership should also extend to developing and coaching newer team members and leading by example with the highest ethical standards

* Fluency in Microsoft Office and iPad applications

* Degree required in Finance, Business, Economics, Business Management or related field

* License 7, 63 and 24 required

* 50% travel is required
