Role/Position Definition: Under general supervision is responsible for the collection, decontamination, sterilization, and storage and distribution of surgical instrumentation and supplies for the organization. Demonstrates ability to perform all duties required of a Sterile Processing Technician while following government regulations, AAMI guidelines, AOA requirements, and SCMC policies.
- Associate of Applied Science degree in related field or completion of an approved Sterile Processing course.
- 1-2 Years of Sterile Processing experience, with a concentration in orthopaedic and spine equipment strongly preferred.
- Approved Sterile Processing Technician certification, CSPDT or CRCST, OR approved certified surgical technologist, CST certification required
- Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers, from the American Heart Association required.
