Tamworth Hospital

North West Cancer Centre, Tamworth Hospital, is an integrated purpose-built cancer centre opened in 2013 providing radiation oncology, medical oncology and haematology care for patients across the northern half of Hunter New England Local Health District. The administration team works closely with clinical staff in a patient-centred approach to care, providing outpatient clinic administration and support within the infusion lounge.

This role will provide an efficient and effective administration service within the North West Cancer Centre. This will include providing consistent, high quality customer services as a person of first contact by phone, email and personal contact with clients. It encompasses all aspects of outpatient clinic administration, including accurate scheduling, facilitating patients attending clinics in person and via Telehealth, and billing.

You are a motivated, competent administration officer with the resilience to work with cancer patients, their families and carers on a daily basis. You have a dedication to excellence in customer service, a commitment to team work and the ability to be respectful in all communication exchanges. You are able to be adaptable and work efficiently and accurately within a fast paced environment.

You will be supported by the Administration Team Leader for procedural and protocol information, and with on-the-job training from other team members. You will have the opportunity to develop a training plan with your manager within the first 3 months of service.

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

Information for Applicants:

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
