Applications are being accepted for the position of After School Recreation Program / Preschool Program Aide - Recreation Leader II (Casual / Hourly Position) with the City of South San Francisco.

SALARY: $10.24 - $12.44 / hour

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Community Services Site Coordinator, the After School Recreation/Preschool Program Aide implements a safe and developmentally appropriate recreational and educational program that provides for the full intellectual and social development of children enrolled in the After School and/or Preschool Programs.

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Equivalent to graduation from High School.

A Recreation Leader II does not need but is encouraged to have either completed 12 semester units or have completed 6 semester units and are in progress to complete 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Recreation or Physical Education or Human Services or Social Welfare in the following areas to be promoted to a Recreation Leader III:

* Child Development

* Principles or Theory

* Curriculum

* Child, Family, Community

* Administration

To be qualified for preschool all of the units must be in ECE courses.

Experience: The ideal candidate would have at least six (6) months of work experience from any combination of the following:

* Licensed programs or classroom experience

* Camp experience

* Physical education experience

* Recreation experience

* College work studies/internships

* Human services experience

* School guidance/counseling experience
