General Summary

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all financial statements and analyses including establishing / maintaining controls, and managing a timely monthly close.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Manage monthly close.

* Set closing schedule

* Prepare and review journal entries

* Prepare and review financial reports

Manage Sun general ledger system including interfaces to USSO distribution system, IFM sub ledger, and payroll system.

* Maintain correct financial statement classification

* Monitor integrity of financial data transferred to Sun G/L from other systems

* Audit foreign currency transactions

* Maintain ledger Security and Controls

Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures including proper handling of financial transactions.

* Review journal entries

* Review bank reconciliations

* Review account reconciliations

* Review financial statements for reasonableness and accuracy

Define and document procedures and internal controls. Monitor compliance with internal controls. Conduct JSOX self assessment. Manage JSOX audits by internal and external auditors.

* Audit transactions for JSOX compliance

* Prepare JSOX reports for parent company internal auditors

* Respond to JSOX audit requests from external auditors

Produce MEA quarterly reporting package for parent company

Produce affiliates' quarterly reporting package for parent company

Serve as a contact for external auditors.

* Prepare information and schedules for external auditors

Manage Accounting personnel.

Administer Sun Accounts Payable Tools

* Set system controls

* Monitor system security

* Set procedures to improve workflow and system function

Support budget preparation, consolidation, and analysis. Oversees and evaluates the processes.

Support various financial reports to the top management and makes suitable observations and recommendations

Review and Approve Accounts Payable Direct Deposit Payments

Back up Approver for Bank Wires if needed

Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities

* Assists with other special projects when needed

* Assists in handling routine inquiries from federal or state regulators

* Perform other job-related responsibilities and duties as may be assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

* Five+ years of applicable work experience

* Three+ years of supervisory experience

* In-depth knowledge of accounting principles

* Proficiency in all MS Office software with mastery using Excel

* Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills; aptitude to work successfully in a team-based environment

* Demonstrable analytical, organizational, time-management, and research skills with strong attention to details

* Strong proficiency in SQL, research, year-end software, and SUN Systems

* Strong proficiency using GAAP principles and methodology

* Well-developed facilitation skills to work among individuals from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds

* Well-developed skills in leading and motivating subordinate employees

* Must possess typing skills for accurate data entry

* Must be adaptable and be able to consistently deal with ever-changing conditions

* Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial & inventory-related information

Preferred Qualifications

* CPA License

* Master's Degree or course work toward a Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance

* Knowledge of Murata's industry, basic business principles, cultural diversities, organization and products

* Proficiency using Lotus Notes software

Travel

Infrequent travel required.
