ABOUT CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND THE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST POSITIONS: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. As a School Psychologist, you will work from home most days while supporting your students and their families through virtual means. For the IEP & any psychological/mental health, & behavioral support services are usually provided through virtual means. Virtual ways in which we support our students & families include: telephone, email, & class connect/blackboard sessions. The psychologists schedule their testing sessions, but not the IEP meetings. For the assessment piece, you will meet your student in person. Assessments are done in a variety of settings such as libraries, in the home & at a community day site that is located near some of our families' homes. For testing purposes, an agreed upon location between the psychologist and family will be used. For behavioral assessments, the location will be wherever the student's regular educational day takes place. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• On a weekly basis our psychologists typically drive approximately 60 miles one way to complete assessments.

• Once or twice a month our psychologists may drive 3-4 hours away to conduct an assessment.

• A few times a year or so, our psychologists may need to fly to a location to complete an assessment.

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Monday-Friday Full time: 8:30am-4:00pm Full Time- Bachelors, Masters or higher: $85,229-$91,782 annual salary based on years of experience As all of our schools are public schools and this is a public school position, these are set contracted hours and you must be working during these hours while under contract with California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Only full time employees are offered health, dental, & vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do participate in CalSTRS. Please contact your CalSTRS counselor about how employment with California Virtual Academies may affect your personal STRS account. ELIGIBILITY POOL: Our postings are eligibility pools for positions that may arise during the 2019-2020 school year, ONLY.
