Project Manager II

We are currently seeking a Project Manager II to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Coordinate with and manage daily activities of cross-functional team for successful execution of assigned development projects.

* Act as the central focal point and authority for execution of the project.

* Ensure project and product requirements are established and manage changes.

* Assess project risks, establish risk mitigation and contingency plans.

* Establish and manage schedules & BOEs (Basis of Estimates) to meet the SOW for projects.

* Comprehend, communicate, and manage product & project priorities.

* Establish, track and analyze project performance metrics and take action to address issues and/or opportunities.

* Make sound/data-driven decisions to ensure project cost, schedule and performance is met.

* Manage internal expectations by current & accurate reporting to the Program Manager & Business area.

* Motivate and communicate clear & timely direction to the team.

* Identify and manage project resources and/or organizational conflicts.

* Comprehend and improve relevant project development processes and ensure adherence.

* Maintain objectivity and composure under pressure.

* Lead with rapid agility to deal with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Required Qualifications & Background

* BS Degree in Engineering discipline required, MS desirable.

* Must have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a development (R&D) environment.

* Experienced in Project Management concepts and basics. PMI (or equivalent) credentials a plus.

* Must have experience successfully developing and managing projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

* Must have proven ability to successfully manage multi-disciplinary projects that transitioned to production.

* Has demonstrated strategic planning for program execution and growth.

* Must have experience in developing risk management and mitigation plans.

* Experience managing International (ex-US) projects desired.

* Education / experience in aircraft subsystems in R&D environment desired.

* Composite / structural knowledge and/or background desired.

* Systems engineering knowledge a plus.

* CAD of mechanical or electrical knowledge and/or background a plus.

* Hands-on MS Project experience a plus.

* Experience working with FAA certification developmental projects a plus.

* Experience managing contracts with DoD, DARPA, and other Government agencies a plus.

* Excellent verbal and written skills.

* Some travel required.
