The candidate will handle assignments related to the management and administration of projects, working remotely with Project Managers. Duties include plant check out & start-up, and review of processes, controls, applications, equipment, schedule and cost evaluation as related to project requirements. Will become familiar with maintenance of order files, project reporting, invoicing documents transmittal, contract documentation, and shipping. Compiles installation, maintenance, and operation manuals. Assists in any other areas, which are Project Management responsibility. The project coordinator has a strong technical background to effectively communicate with the different functions within the Customer's organizations, i.e. Engineering, Operations and Maintenance personnel. High level of collaboration with sales, sales support, customer service and product line teams is paramount to this role.

The candidate is responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables and contractual obligations are fulfilled. For new projects, the candidate maybe required to assist with setting up and standardizing proposals, opening jobs in SAP, creating a viable WBS and a detailed MS Project Schedule. This position will require extensive work within SAP, BASware and other business systems to set up financial details, keep track of effort, hours spent, invoices, purchase orders and associated costs. The candidate will work with Project Managers to update and keep current project schedules. This position will directly interface with external clients and support sales team with new project opportunity development.

* Work on assignments received under the remote direction of Contract Managers and local supervision from General Manager, Service – Iron Range.

* Prepare internal and external kick-off meetings to define project objectives and clarify contractual issues as required.

* Assist Project Managers:

* Maintaining Engineering and Purchasing Schedules.

* Preparing and updating overall job schedule as required.

* Coordinating field service requirements and scheduling with both department and suppliers.

* Review vendor invoices for completeness and accuracy.

* Responsible for ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled

* Creates, maintains and manages all project / contract details within SAP

* Assist the Project Manager in creating and maintaining a project schedule within Microsoft Project

* Coordinate timely submission of invoices to the customer with the accounting department.

* Prepare and maintain cost data comparing actual versus budget costs.

* Maintain equipment specifications throughout the project.

* Visit customers, jobsites, suppliers and others, as required for status meetings, problem solving, start-up, warranty issues, proposal presentation and new project opportunity development.

* In conjunction with sales team, proactively inform customers about contract status and shipping schedules.

* Resolve warranty claims with customers and suppliers.

* Resolve accounts payable and receivable problems.

* Coordinate freight requirements with purchasing department.

* Assist in proposal preparation.

* Develop project management & technical skills, as well as knowledge of mineral processing equipment, systems, customers and suppliers.

* Overnight travel may be required as needed.

* Performs other duties and/or other special projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience

* Bachelor degree in Business/Project Management or Engineering Field.

* 3 years minimum Project Management or related experience.

* Familiarity with minerals processing equipment and systems applications in mines and quarries is preferred.

* Specific experience associated with field service and equipment repair, crushing & screening, bulk material handling, pyro processing and grinding equipment is a major plus.

* Strong experience with all MS Office tools

* Experience with Office 365 & Microsoft Project essential. Experience with SAP a major plus.

* Demonstrated interpersonal and communications (verbal & written) skills

* Project and people management experience an asset

* Office machine experience including copiers, fax machines, projectors, laminator, etc.

* Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, organizing and prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to complete assigned tasks in allotted time with a minimal supervision.

* Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required as the Assistant Project Manager will have frequent interaction with both internal and external customers, vendors, contractors and start up/commissioning.

* Ability to understand engineering drawings and read technical drawings.

* Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Auto CADD.

* Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, fax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences.

* Good selling skills, including public presentations, are essential.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance.

* The employee must occasionally lift/ and or move up to 60 pounds, including climbing up and down multiple flights by way of stairs or ladders when working in the field, as well as the ability to react to audible warnings when working in the field.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

* Visual acuity is required to read and produce accurate engineering drawings.

* Travel may be required as needed (including both domestic and international).
