Sr User Researcher, Amazon Global

Amazon.com, Inc. Shoreline, WA
The Amazon Global team is responsible for improving the end-to-end shopping flow for customers around the world – from awareness and product discovery through purchase. Our small, tenured, entrepreneurial Global Experience Design (GXD) team provides customer-driven design solutions that help us build the best possible experience tailored to our global customer base. We seek a talented and driven Senior User Researcher to join GXD as we build the next generation of shopping experiences on all devices and platforms – for millions of people around the world.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an end-to-end research strategy focused on our International locales (both established and emerging markets). You'll work closely with business executives, design, product management, and engineering stakeholders to determine what shopping needs are universal vs. locale-specific, so that we can make smarter decisions about how to maximize cultural relevance without sacrificing scalability. Your research will be primarily charged at identifying the needs and pain points of shoppers in various regions across the globe. You will synthesize complex inputs and coalesce insights from various locales and methods (quant and qual) into executive reports. To be successful, you will deliver clear, customer-driven recommendations that influence business prioritization.

As an ideal candidate, you have a deep understanding of user research methods and best practices, but you also have a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach, and you're interested in pushing the boundaries of agile research. You are a passionate, curious researcher with uncanny observational and analytical skills, an impressive ability to collaborate with other teams and designers, and a relentless determination to do what is right for Amazon's customers. You can work with minimal direction while delivering high-quality and data-driven outputs. You will work on overlapping projects, so you are good at multi-tasking, juggling competing priorities, and organizing yourself.
