Job Description Summary

Design, build and support data communication networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and intranets for HomeStreet, Inc. Plan and analyze where communications are going to be needed, create plans for the network. Must be able to successfully present to senior management, be up-to-date on the latest technology.

Responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring and maintaining Network infrastructure of HSB IT infrastructure. Perform regular Network security audits, perform patching, upgrades, install of network equipment, understand and determine the hardware and wiring needs for all HomeStreet, Inc. offices.

Job Details

Primary Functions:

* Plan, Design, install, and support LAN and WAN network hardware and software. This includes all routers, switches and monitoring software. Deep understanding of layer 3 routing, VLAN management, and routing protocols (Static routes, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN, PFR, Subnet management, VPN)

* Follow all IT Department policies and procedures.

* Establish and maintain appropriate security configurations and controls for all network components.

* Establish and maintain tools and procedures for regular and frequent monitoring of network alerts.

* Design, plan, install and maintain adequate disaster recovery capabilities to meet the production support needs of the business.

* Create and follow documentation for systems and processes and procedures appropriate for the role, which may include network device information, configuration & change management, security monitoring, disaster recovery, etc.

* Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities of Windows system administration duties while on-call

* Remain current on new technologies regarding emerging network technologies.

* Assume other duties/projects as they arise and be responsive to the department's needs.

* Provide troubleshooting and support for network issues.

* Provide 24x7 on-call support

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting LAN/WAN in enterprise environments.

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field.

* Cisco CCNP or higher Required

* Strong TCP/IP experience is required

* Strong Network monitoring and troubleshooting experience is required

* Experience with Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, MPLS, DMVPN and PFR

* Experience with Solarwinds, LiveAction and Extrahop

* Experience with Cisco Nexus series switches.

* Experience with Cisco ASA, FirePower, Stealthwatch and ISE.

* Experience with Cisco Wireless a Plus

* Experience with CUCM, Unity and UCCX a plus

* Experience with Cisco Prime infrastructure, Collaboration and APIC-EM a plus

* Experience with Linux a plus.

* Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with individuals across all areas and levels of the company.

* Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing as well as on the telephone and in person. Be able to document policies, procedures and work instructions.

* Possess good judgment, ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information. Be able to accept security responsibilities and administer systems with the highest degree of trust.

* Ability to work as part of team or independently, set and handle multiple tasks and priorities, and lead complex technical projects.

* Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.

* Regular and punctual attendance with a willingness to work beyond normal work hours, including being on call, when necessary.

* Valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage required.

Mental and Physical Considerations:

* Able to operate a Personal Computer and view information on a monitor.

* Must be able to sit for many hours each day.

* Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing document, reaching and bending.

* May be required to stand for extended periods of time.

* Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds

* Ability to speak and understand English and express ideas and have difficult conversation in person and over the telephone

* Ability to listen and comprehend speech.

* Ability to problem solve, make decisions, interpret data and information, read, write and organize information in an orderly manner.

* Willing and able to travel occasionally as needed.

Work Environment:

* Normal business office environment.

* Ability to work in artificial light for extended periods of time
