UW Medicine (UWM) Finance has an outstanding opportunity for a Productivity Financial Analyst. Under the direction of the UWM Manager for Productivity Analytics, you will support cost reduction and cost management activities across the UW Medicine enterprise through provision of benchmarking and productivity analysis. Be accountable for maintaining timely and accurate submittal of Operational Benchmarks and providing analytical support for the UWM Financial Improvement Transformation (Project FIT), including dissemination and interpretation of useful reports for Medical Center management.
You will be an integral member of the UW Medicine Finance team. With a focus on supporting the efficient and accurate provision of financial information to improve financial performance, you will regularly interact closely with entity management, department leaders, and Finance colleagues.
Benchmarking & Surveys: You will ensure the timely and accurate submittal of Operational Benchmarks and dissemination of relevant reports for Medical Center management. You will support Medical Center directors and managers with interpretation and analysis of benchmarking results. Work with targeted departments across the enterprise to improve and standardize data content as well as to streamline quarterly benchmarking submissions.
Financial Performance & Process Improvement: You will provide analytics to UW Medicine in support of decision-making and cost management. Focus on productivity monitoring by improving and maintaining reporting and metrics. Work with departments to determine causes of financial performance variation.
Other: You will establish effective, collaborative working relationships throughout the organization with staff, peers, supervisors and customers. You will represent UW Medicine Finance on committees or task forces as needed.
Minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in financial and operational analysis is required.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is required
Healthcare industry experience is required; Experience with hospital workload units such as HCPCS/CPT codes, MS DRGs, APCs and census data is strongly preferred.
Experience with financial planning, budget, cost management, productivity improvement and resource optimization is preferred.
Experience with forecasting, predictive analysis, statistics, business intelligence tools and relational databases is preferred.
Strong skill level with financial systems such as General Ledger and supporting software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access is required.
MBA, MHA, CPA, CMA is preferred.

Ability to prepare complex financial analysis and interpretations with high degree of accuracy.
Effective analytical, verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to summarize complex financial data into graphical and presentation-quality formats.
Ability to extract and reconcile data from multiple systems and ensure data integrity.
