Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for confident and experienced designers thatcan work independently, mentor entry level designers, and deliver work ofexceptional quality across design, approval, and execution of Katerracommercial building projects.

EssentialDuties & Responsibilities

* Leading key aspects of mechanical designand project execution with limited supervision by a Senior Mechanical Engineer andin cooperation with other engineering staff.

* Performing engineering calculations andperformance simulations.

* Preparing and reviewing robust designdocumentation.

* Coordinating with architecture,engineering, manufacturing, and construction teams to execute projects on timeand on budget.

* Collaborating with R&D teams andleveraging learnings from projects to inform ongoing product development atKaterra.

* Providing unique subject matter expertisefrom specific project and educational experience to strengthen the Katerrateam.

RequiredSkills & Experience

* Licensed professional mechanical engineeror ability to earn license within 12 months.

* 5+ years of HVAC design experience inmulti-family, residential, commercial & industrial buildings (multi-familyor residential experience is essential) including both air and watersidesystems.

* Team player driven by a desire to makebetter buildings.

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical orarchitectural engineering.

* Experience with design, specification,approvals, and construction administration project phases.

* Detailed knowledge of IBC and UBC familiesof codes along with local codes, especially those in the region surroundingyour place of hire.

* Excellent writing, organization, andcommunication skills.

* Ability todevelop design content efficiently with Revit MEP software.

* Ability to communicate complex designconcepts clearly and quickly using either manual (sketches, mockups, etc.)and/or digital tools (Bluebeam, etc.).

PreferredSkills & Experience

* Engineeringexperience as part of a design/build or manufactured housing company.

* Demonstrated engagement in ASHRAE, ACEEE orother related industry organizations.

* LEED AP accreditation or other demonstratedexperience with sustainable design.

* Demonstrated expertise in energy/thermalmodeling.
