About this team

The Business Operations team manages the functions required to run the Technology organization as effectively and efficiently as possible. These functions span across areas such as communications, workforce, financials, and administration. Business Operations team members are spread across our two core Technology offices located in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, B.C.

A day in the life:

Reporting to the Director of Technology Business Operations and based in Seattle, the Manager of Technology Business Operations will be integral to the overall success of the Technology organization. They will lead a team of billing resources and have oversight for key financial processes and other operational programs required for running the Technology organization on a day-to-day basis:

* Develop strong working relationships with key internal corporate partners including Finance, People & Culture, Procurement and Legal

* Conduct financial analysis and develop models & reports to support decision-making

* Drive efficiencies in technology billing, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes

* Manage monthly financial calendar with key dates for our directors, project managers, etc.

* Assist in developing and managing a technology onboarding program for new hires

* Develop and manage a communication plan/calendar for the technology org

* Ensure consistent, regular communications utilizing a variety of different communication methods and channels

* Assist in building onboarding materials/processes for new Tech hires

* Lead or support major initiatives and/or process improvement efforts specific to Business Operations

* Lead, develop and coach direct reports

* Hold regular 1:1 conversations and team meetings with direct reports

* Provide back-up support to the Director of Technology Business Operations


* Bachelor's degree in CS/CIS, finance, business administration, or other related field

* Experience working in a technology organization

* Experience managing budgets and conducting regular forecasting

* Well versed in all Microsoft Office tools with advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization

* Ability to travel to Vancouver, BC a minimum of 2-3 days/month
