AWS is seeking a Seattle or San Francisco based Business Development leader (relocation available) to help us maintain our leadership position as our customer's preferred cloud platform. The role has a specific focus on evangelizing and selling our Training and Certification services. This to be developed team, which you will build and lead day to day operations of, is critical to helping our customers accelerate their adoption of AWS cloud services.

The ideal candidate will have clearly documented success in enterprise sales management or clear evidence of intentionally building a skill set to lead a sales organization. They should be very familiar with customer challenges related to cloud adoption and have experience helping customers overcome those challenges. They should deeply understand the business benefits of cloud computing compared to client owned/managed on premise datacenter resources. They will be able to clearly demonstrate through career sales examples that they have built deep customer trust and delivered big results by helping to create and execute a long-term transformational strategy. Because of this experience, they will immediately identify the mega-huge opportunity for AWS training services. They will be willing to operate both tactically but able to zoom out quickly to lead the organization with big, strategic thinking. They will have strong business acumen and will demonstrate regularly to senior leadership their operational rigor. This leader will have the opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of our Training and Certification services, therefore experience influencing product roadmaps will be important. Finally, the ideal candidate will possess experience selling in an at scale motion individually, have lead efforts to transfer selling skills to large sales teams and be familiar with implementing at scale go-to market tactics across large sales organizations.

Responsibilities for this role will include building, leading and managing a Business Development organization focused on wide market penetration, driving individual seller adoption, and delivering Training and Certification revenue from our customers within our Territory segment. The role will develop and execute an overlay sales strategy that includes our AWS field sales leadership and sales teams, solutions architects, partners and professional services organizations. You will manage a team responsible for developing and closing a robust training pipeline by working with customers to understand their technical enablement challenges, developing detailed training proposals and helping customers with execution of training plans. To be successful in this role, our leader will think strategically and analytically about the business, product, and build and convey compelling value propositions while working cross-organizationally to build continued selling motions by our field sellers. This strategy should result in the closure of large and highly complex AWS Training and Certification opportunities.
