Job Summary/Description:

KXII News 12 is seeking a news co-anchor/reporter for the market’s top-rated morning newscast. This is morning television, where a little personality goes a long way. News readers need not apply.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

ˑ co-anchor 2-hour weekday morning newscast

ˑ field report as needed when there is breaking and spot local news in the mornings

ˑ serve as OTT anchor during morning hours

ˑ serve as high school football reporter on Friday nights in the fall

ˑ copy edit and occasionally write scripts for morning and midday newscasts

ˑ record and broadcast live local news reports for our local radio partners daily

ˑ help produce midday newscast and fill-in anchor as needed

ˑ possess great live reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news

ˑ compose station's quarterly FCC Issues report

ˑ help post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.)

ˑ appear at various community events that may occur outside normal shift

ˑ serve as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers

Qualifications/Requirements:

Prior anchoring and on-air reporting experience preferred. Please include a link to your demo reel in your application. The right candidate will have the ability to anchor every type of story, be willing to book and perform live in-studio interviews, help produce the morning and midday newscasts, write great copy, edit video, and occasionally anchor or report from the field. Must possess strong writing and information gathering skills, be a quick thinker ready for anything, and have strong ad-lib abilities. College degree in related field preferred. Must have good driving record and valid driver's license, and a commitment to Gray’s drug-free workplace policy. KXII is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug free workplace.
