Job Introduction
The Launch Manager is accountable for overseeing all aspects of new program launch as it pertains to the assembly plant.

Major Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overseeing all aspects of new program launch as it pertains to the assembly plant.
  • Acts as a liaison between corporate designs of new product for manufacturing feasibility.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the costed bill of materials for the new program development.
  • Assists corporate sales in ensuring piece price changes contain appropriate plant input.
  • Acts as the plant champion for PDP deliverables and ensures completion. Complies with Quality, Environmental, and Material Management System requirements.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely, follows all company policies and reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.

Authority:

  • Authority to communicate sourcing suggestions due to Quality Performance to Corporate Purchasing and Plant Manager.
  • Provide leadership; develop professional attitudes and lead by example.
  • Map out a plan that provides ownership and accountability for new products.
  • Decision making power on PDP and APQP issues as assigned on deliverable matrix #141. Also has the authority to make decisions about product quality and can stop the line if necessary to correct situations



Knowledge and Education
A four-year degree and five (5) years experience with progressive supervisory responsibility in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Work Experience
Five (5) years experience with progressive supervisory responsibility in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Skills and Competencies
Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills required. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to management, employees, corporate personnel, suppliers, and the customer is essential.

Work Environment
Louisville Seating is a Just In Time (JIT) facility that operates a 3 crew operation, running 7 days a week.

Additional Information
Occasional travel by all means is required including internationally.
