Job Summary

In this Deskside Support position, you will provide quality and consistent deskside (& remote) technical support to the Department of Corrections and its Correctional facilities as well as other State agency business users.

Responsibilities will include:

* Monitor and resolve requests and incidents from the internal tracking system

* Image necessary laptops/desktops based on process

* Install and configure appropriate software as well as collaborate with packaging team for automation

* Document software needs by team to provide needs proactively

* Setup, configure, troubleshoot print devices

* Troubleshoot and diagnose problems relating to workstations, network availability, and application availability

* Ensure appropriate security controls are in place on the workstation and work with Vulnerability team to remediate

* Identify issues and ways to resolve them from the enterprise level

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an IT related field that includes:

* Experience providing 2nd level deskside support using remote tools or in person, imaging workstations, laptops & tablets

* Experience with Windows Client Operation Systems

* Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Group Policy

* Experience setting up new users within Active Directory and permissions being applied

* Installation and uninstallation of software and applications

* Experience with incident logging software

* Experience in vulnerability remediation and patch management

* Experience in spyware and virus removal

* Experience working with common business software including but not limited to MS Office Suites and industry standard web browsers

This position requires a driver's license for occasional travel between agency based offices

* A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related substitutes for two years of experience, OR related Associate's substitutes for one year.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of desktop inventory and software automation tools (SCCM-Microsoft System Configuration Manger & Software Delivery)

* A+ Certification

* Microsoft Desktop Support certification

* Support experience in a large IT environment

* Effective communication with a variety of stakeholders

* Knowledge of ITSM asset management systems

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 25 pounds
