AWS Chatbot team, is a group of passionate engineers and designers who are determined to change the way how customers interact with AWS. Our mission is to enable customers to interact, operate and have a conversation with their AWS resources in a collaborative environment. We are a team of builders working on a new AWS service (AWS Chatbot) that is built on sever-less technologies and uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) for comprehending complex queries and providing insightful recommendations. Key job responsibilities

  • Designing scalable, secure and reliable software architecture.
  • Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages.
  • Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a micro-services architecture.
  • Solving complex technical problems.
  • Improve operational excellence within the team.
  • Design, implement and deliver software systems end-to-end.

A day in the life

As an engineer on AWS Chatbot you will have an opportunity to design, implement and deliver software components that are highly secure, scalable, distributed using micro-service architecture.

You will collaborate with designers, product owners, research scientists and other engineers in coming up with novel solutions to highly complex technical problems like Natural Language comprehension, recommendations, Q&A based on structured and unstructured data. The software that you design will need to scale at AWS level, be highly secure and reliable.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • Practical knowledge of distributed system design, micro-service architecture, using cloud services, serverless technologies, natural language processing, machine learning, and basic data analytics.
  • Practical knowledge of professional software engineering practices including the full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Strong track record delivering high quality software on time.
  • Able to work in a diverse team.

Preffered Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Software Development.
  • Deep understanding of OOP concepts, algorithms and data structures.
  • A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time.
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts.
