The ideal candidate for this role will write this as their introductory email:

“I have worked as a Business Intelligence Engineer/Data Scientist for 5+ years and have been a key member of team [X] responsible for supporting Marketing and Product initiatives via advanced analytics with Big Data (Ownership). In this capacity, I’ve autonomously identified and pursued research with significant business impact, and make compelling cases for prioritization, resource allocation, and customer acquisition strategy (Think Big, Dive Deep). I’ve routinely prioritized and executed in the face of ambiguity, adapted and deployed new tools and platforms to answer complicated analytical questions, and identified trade-offs between speed and quality of different approaches (Learn and Be Curious, Deliver Results). I’ve worked on holistic channel attribution models, created success metrics, methods to track and troubleshoot data anomalies, and developed a common language for all colleagues to understand and drive these KPIs. I’ve supported data processes - provided the team with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools so that everyone gets a good sense of the state of the business.”

This role requires the individual to possess an established analytical framework, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions, knowledge and experience with statistical methods, and ability to work under ambiguous circumstances. Successful candidate will have strong passion for data and analytics with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and driven by a desire to innovate Amazon’s approach to this space.
