Job summary

Come and be a part of a dynamic team of learning professionals who are elevating the performance of Amazon leaders at AMXL. AMXL is a single-threaded organization that owns the end to end customer experience for heavy and bulky products. AMXL consolidates supply chain, tech, FC operations, transportation, delivery stations, and last mile delivery. We also provide special handling services such as Room of Choice delivery, Haul-Away and Installation/Assembly for select items. ASIN selection includes products greater than 50 lbs, longer than 96“, or girth greater than 130“ and products that require special delivery requirements. AMXL currently has operations in NA & EU.

AMXL L&D is looking for someone to develop and support the development of analytical tools and data processing solutions for the global AMXL business.

The successful candidate will be able to effectively retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data to improve the efficiency of the package delivery network, and enable efficient management of a large global delivery system. The ideal candidate will support analysis, improvement and creation of metrics and dashboards. This individual will work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution, process improvement and track progress against goals. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as excellent business acumen and comfort with technical teams and systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and enjoy working with large data sets.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated reporting and data visualization solutions
  • Define and implement operational metrics and key performance indicators
  • Build end-to-end data pipelines to ingest and transform data from different types of data sources and systems
  • Utilize data from disparate data sources to build meaningful datasets for analytics and reporting use cases
  • Understand and analyze business processes, logical data models and relational database implementations
  • Execute research projects, and generate practical results and recommendations
  • Design and implement automated data processing solutions and data quality controls

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar field
  • 2+ years of related Business Intelligence experience, preferably for a technology company handling large, complex data sources
  • Experience using one or more data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight)
  • Experience using one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, R, Perl)

Preffered Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar field
  • 4+ years of related Business Intelligence experience, preferably for a technology company handling large, complex data sources
  • Experience in near real-time reporting and analytics
  • Experience with AWS storage, compute, database, and analytics solutions (e.g. S3, Redshift, Lambda, DynamoDB, Athena, QuickSight)
  • Experience with ETL, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and working with large-scale data sets
  • High proficiency in SQL; comfortable writing and optimizing complex queries
  • Knowledge in statistical methods for analyzing data (e.g. regression or time series analysis)
  • Motivated, self-driven, and capable of defining own design and test scenarios
